Whiteface Mountain summit, Veterans' Memorial Highway
- When it’s open
- A seasonal toll road. It does not open until late spring and closes for the winter; ORDA publishes the year's opening and closing dates, and they move with the snow. Confirm before travelling.
- Getting in
- The highway starts in Wilmington, about 20 minutes from Lake Placid village. There is a per-vehicle toll plus a charge per additional passenger, and the summit is reached from the parking area either on foot through a rock tunnel and stairway or by the elevator.
