Getting in
The overlook itself is open year-round, but Death Valley notes that filming activity along State Highway 190 can pull in Caltrans permitting and California Highway Patrol traffic control — stay on the overlook and off the roadway. Drones are separately prohibited: "Launching, landing, or operating an unmanned aircraft" is not allowed (https://www.nps.gov/deva/learn/management/filming-and-photography.htm).
