- Worth knowing if the proposal turns into a ceremony on the spot: Shenandoah needs no wedding permit when "No props, sets, decor, music, or other equipment will be used and the group size is 15 or less people," and separately bans one common prop outright — "Live flowers and plant material of any type (cut or potted) are not permitted at outdoor ceremonies in the Park" (https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/special-use-permits.htm). Skyline Drive can close on short notice for snow, ice or fog; check park conditions before driving up.
