Phoenix, AZ

Hole-in-the-Rock, Papago Park

Getting in
Phoenix publishes park hours but no photography or proposal permit rule. Hours from the park's own page: "Parking/Entrance Hours: East of Galvin Pkwy. - 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. West of Galvin Pkwy.- Sunrise to Sunset" and "Trail Hours: 5 a.m. to 11 p.m." — a summer sunset here can fall after the east-side parking gate closes at 7 p.m., so check the gate against your date. Papago is also unusual for the city: "The ramadas at Papago Park are available for public use, however unlike most City of Phoenix ramadas, they do require a reservation." Confirm with the Ranger Office at 602-495-5458 or Parks events at 602-262-6412 (https://www.phoenix.gov/administration/departments/parks/activities-facilities/trails/papago-park.html).
